ANTHONY MCCALL – YOU AND I, HORIZONTAL III
Anthony McCall s’est fait connaître dès les années 70 pour ses films de lumière solide, notamment Line Describing a Cone réalisé en 1973. Avec ce premier film, il affirme la spécificité du cinéma à travers ses propres composants. Il crée des installations sculptant l’espace grâce à la projection de la lumière dont le spectateur peut faire l’expérience matérielle.
Cette série de films de lumière solide comporte : Long Film for Four Projectors (1974), Four projected Movements (1975) and Long Film for Ambient Light (1975).
Pour cette deuxième exposition personnelle à la galerie, Anthony McCall présente une double vidéoprojection horizontale : You and I, Horizontal III (2007), une série de dessins et de photographies : Leaving (2006), Watertable, (1972), Projected Colums (2008) ainsi que des performances filmées : Landscape for White Squares (1972) , Earthwork (1972) et Five- Minute Drawing (1974).
